The Identity Theft Perfect Storm: Q-day and Gen AI

Today, Gen AI can already fake most biometrics. However, attackers still struggle to obtain complete and accurate personal PII. When Qday arrives, decades of encrypted PII gathered through breaches and interceptions will be decrypted through HarvestNow, DecryptLater pipelines releasing authentic personal data at scale. The result is a perfect storm: Gen-AI generated biometrics combined with real PII and identity theft becoming an automated, low-cost, high-volume process - unless organisations enforce a rigorous chain of rust at capture and verification. In this presentation, Robert will expand on this forecast by giving a clear, mental model of how identity theft economics will transform between now and 2036. Using simple visuals, Robert will explain the attacker shift from labour intensive fraud to industrialised identity assembly lines and leave the audience with a concise, vendor agnostic blueprint for defending identity systems in the decade ahead.
