The Algorithm Didn’t Sign the Policy

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transitioning from experimental technology to embedded decision-making capability across organisations. While innovation accelerates, governance and assurance practices often lag, creating accountability gaps, control blind spots, and emerging security risks. Jenni Parry will explore AI ethics, security, and accountability through a governance, risk, and assurance lens, focusing on how organisations can pragmatically embed oversight and control without stifling innovation. Using real-world examples including autonomous systems, generative AI controversies, and deepfake misuse, Jenni will demonstrate how AI failures are rarely technical failures alone, but instead reflect weaknesses in governance, risk ownership, and assurance models.
