At ISACA Ireland’s Annual Conference, Rob will share how Self-Sovereign Identity can address security challenges and drive the future of privacy-led identity verification.

What can Self-Sovereign Identity do for you: Solving security challenges with privacy-led Identity Verification

I want to discuss the future of what identity verification looks like, the security risks that poses and the security solutions it presents. I plan to follow this draft talk structure:

  • how does current identity verification work?
  • what are the security challenges?
  • what solutions will we all need to apply in the coming 5 years?
  • what are the opportunities to solve security threats using these solutions in the next 5 years?

Amongst the topics covered will be:

  • digital wallets and their drawbacks
  • the different kinds of national identity databases in existence and common
  • digital identity documents and their use
  • the growing importance of privacy-first processing

I will aim to peak with an explanation of Self-Sovereign Identity and why I believe it is the next major change coming in Identity Verification and Authentication.
